Well, what can i say or add to the below comments? First, this is one of the (if not the MOST) emotive stories i found so far about Derpy and Dinky mother and daughter relationship. Some ppl can call it harsh, crude, but realistic indeed
When the story started, i tough "ok here we go again with another story about how Derpy was raped by some pervert pony some years ago since she is "special" blah blah blah", but when i saw THAT panel, the "baby on a trash can holding a tin can"...damn, that was an unexpected twist...and the following panels definitively compensate all the pain for seeing that
As in few cases, and only when the comic deserves it, i congrats the author (Beavernator) and take my hat for him for this masterpiece, you made me cry, but also, somehow, made my day with a cruel but happy ending story. Ty, for real n.n
PD: Beaver, i have seen browsing your galleries you have a real interest in drawing baby ponies, very cute n.n
It's sad to say that this actually happens in real life, but aside from that, this was done very well both emotionally and family-like. Not only does this show Derpy/Ditzy's motherly love to her adopted daughter but this brings up something that most babies and children never get, a second chance of life. You showed this very well on your comic and you can tell it quickly upon seeing it. I am very happy to read this comic and I expect to see many great things from you, kind sir or ma'am. Also, *starts fuming* who is the motherfu**ing, low-life, son of a b***h that left this poor soul in the dumps!? I am so sorry for my language since I'm royalty but anyone/anypony who does this to their own child deserves to be royally f**ked! *Realizes what he just said* Goodness, I really ought to calm myself down. That's the second time I get angry over a touchy subject *squees*
Sorry for the late reply there, but yeah same here. I feel so sorry for all the babies that have to go through that. If there was ever a campaign where you can adopt a baby that when through it all. I'd join it, they deserve a second chance in life with someone they can truly love
It's okay. I'm very clumsy and careless. I can't see myself carrying a biological child in my womb and doing all of that stuff. I respect people who love biological children, but I feel like that I'd be better as adoptive mother. Children like Dinky in this comic deserve a second chance.
Please. Sob stories like this have no effect on real men like me. I'm going to go chug a beer, or smoke a cigarette, you know, something manly. (steps off screen, starts crying like a baby.) Oh, god, WHY?!?!?!?!?! Poor Dinky! *sobbing hysterically*
This is adorable, and emotional in all the right places. I always thought Dinky was adopted by Derpy, but as a baby filly in a warm, comfy basket and gently left at Derpy's doorstep. This is quite dramatic, but still very good.
The sad thing is that people like that exists in the world, there have been reported cases all over the world of babies being thrown into dumpsters, or being left in garbage bags, or something else. It's really terrible and depressing to think about it, but not thinking about it makes me feel like a bad person that neglects to think about things like that... or the kids being forced to slave labor in South East Asia, or kids being forced to kill people in civil wars in Africa... now I'm even more depressed.
